about
“See My Baby” is a new single release by singer/songwriter Greg Dayton. Based out of Sausalito, CA and New York City, Dayton has released two critically acclaimed solo albums and was inducted as a “Great Blues Artist” into the New York Blues Hall of Fame in 2016. While Dayton’s music has strong blues influences, his songs draw upon a much wider range of styles in the spirit of the great songwriters of classic rock, folk, and soul. The new single is the first release in body of work which will comprise his third solo album.
lyrics
Ain’t a cloud in the sky
I watch the bluebirds fly
A jump in my step and a gleam in my eye
Cause I’m going to see my baby tonight
I sing my favorite song
The world is humming along
The one about the girl who can do no wrong
I’m talkin’ ‘bout my baby tonight
Don’t matter how many days she’s been gone
It always feels too long
And the stars are getting ready to shine for me
‘Cause I’m goin’ to see my baby tonight
I see you talkin’ to me
It’s like an echo in the deep blue sea
Don’t be surprised if I don’t hear a thing
‘Cause I’m thinking ‘bout my baby tonight
She spends her days at the local zoo
Knows what the monkeys do
And nothing’s gonna stop us from misbehavin’
When I go to see my baby tonight
Time is tickin’ away, and baby, that’s OK
A couple more hours and you won’t find me
‘Cause I’m goin’ to see my baby tonight
A couple more hours and you won’t find me
‘Cause I’m goin’ to see my baby tonight
